Seamless Steel Pipe
JIS Standard Steel Pipe
JIS standard steel pipe refers to steel pipe that adhere to the standards set by the japanese industrial standards (JIS).
JIS pipes are steel pipe that have been created by JIS and meets certain performance requirements. JIS standard pipe covers various types of seamless pipes, including alloy steel, stainless steel, and carbon steel. These standards specify the technical requirements, dimensions, materials, and testing methods for seamless pipes. Some commonly referenced JIS standards for seamless pipes include JIS g3455, JIS g3452, JIS g3429, JIS g3441, JIS g3444, JIS g3445, and JIS g3454.

JIS G 3101 SS400 is one of the most commonly used hot rolled general structural steel.
SS400 is a Japanese brand of ordinary steel products
Process
b) Pipes are normally as manufactured. Cold-finished tubes shall be annealed after manufacture.
c) Both ends of pipes with a nominal diameter of 300A or smaller shall have threaded or plain ends, and pipes with a nominal diameter of 350A or larger shall have plain ends. However, if the orderer specifies the bevel end, the shape shall be according to the agreement between the parties to delivery.
d) When pipes are manufactured by electric resistance welding, external and internal weld beads shall be removed so as to smoothly follow the shape of the pipe unless otherwise specified. However, if it is difficult to remove the internal weld bead, it may be left as it is.
e) In the case of a threaded pipe, both ends shall be tapered according to JIS B 0203, and one joint according to JIS B 2301 or JIS B 2302 (hereinafter referred to as a socket) shall be screwed into one end. The unscrewed end of the socket shall be protected by a thread protection ring or other suitable means. However, if specified by the purchaser, the socket may be omitted. Inspection of tapered threads shall be in accordance with JIS B 0253.
f) If zinc plating is used, it shall be done before threads are machined into pipes and sockets. In this case, the black tubes and sockets that have passed the inspection are thoroughly cleaned by blasting, pickling, etc., and then galvanized by the hot-dip galvanizing method.
g) The zinc used for galvanizing shall be JIS H 2107 distilled zinc bare metal class 1 or zinc with equivalent or higher quality.
h) Other general matters for zinc plating shall be in accordance with JIS H 8641.
