In modern construction and residential water supply systems, PE coated pipe has become one of the most reliable and widely used materials. For underground installation, it is recommended that the pipeline be laid below the frost line to prevent freezing.

In residential communities, industrial parks, and enterprises, distribution mains with an outer diameter of 200mm or less can be routed around buildings, ensuring that the minimum clearance from exterior walls is no less than 1.0m. Such layout planning ensures both safety and ease of maintenance.


Processing and Structural Features

PE material has a high melt viscosity and relatively low fluidity. To avoid excessive friction heat that could cause screw degradation or roughening of the inner pipe wall, screw temperature must be carefully controlled. Cooling water for the extrusion screw should be maintained at 70–80℃.

Another advantage of PE coated pipe is its flexibility. The pipe can be bent easily to navigate obstacles without requiring additional fittings, which significantly reduces the need for connectors and lowers installation costs. This flexibility is especially beneficial in complex engineering projects where space and alignment are limited.


Construction and Installation Considerations

PE pipe installation involves two critical steps: fusion welding and backfilling. In past maintenance records, problems such as seam separation and leakage have been reported due to poor construction practices. To prevent these issues, construction teams must strengthen welding quality control and ensure backfilling is done properly. Thorough preparation before installation greatly improves efficiency and reduces the likelihood of on-site issues.

During winter, PE material may exhibit brittleness at temperatures below 5℃. Therefore, extra caution is required:

· Use sharp tools for slow, precise cutting.

· Avoid heavy pressure or impact on installed pipes.

· Apply protective covers over sections vulnerable to external forces.
