What Should Be Considered When Cutting Straight Seam Steel Pipe?
When performing straight seam steel pipe cutting, there are several important considerations to know and follow to ensure quality and safety of the cut. The following are some of the precautions:
Preparation: Before cutting, make sure that the LSAW steel pipe has been fixed to avoid movement of the pipe during the cutting process. At the same time, check whether the cutting tools are intact to ensure that the cutting process goes smoothly.
Cutting Angle: Select the appropriate cutting angle according to the cutting requirements. The correct cutting angle can reduce the stress during the cutting process and improve the cutting quality. Whether the straight seam steel pipe is rotated or the cutting nozzle is fixed, it should be kept perpendicular to the surface of the straight seam steel pipe. After the cutting is completed, the cutting nozzle should be gradually tilted forward to make an angle of 70-80° with the tangent line of the cutting point.
Cutting speed: Control the cutting speed within the appropriate range. Too fast or too slow cutting speed may result in reduced cutting quality or rupture of the steel pipe.
Avoid excessive cutting: During the cutting process, excessive force cutting should be avoided to avoid damaging the steel pipe or cutting tools. After the straight seam steel pipe is cut, the iron oxide slag at the cut should be smoothed and cleaned up with a file or hand grinding wheel. Meanwhile, the end face of the straight seam steel pipe mouth should be perpendicular to the centerline of the pipe.
Post-cutting treatment: After the cutting is completed, make sure that the swarf is cleaned up, check whether the steel pipe is cracked or broken, and repair or scrap it if necessary.
SAFETY OPERATION: During the cutting process, be sure to pay attention to safety. Wear appropriate protective equipment, such as protective glasses and gloves. Make sure the work area is neat and tidy to avoid accidental injury.
By following these precautions, you will be able to perform LSAW pipe cutting more safely and efficiently. If you encounter any problems during operation, feel free to consult a professional to ensure safety and quality.
